Dunedin Golf Club

The Dunedin Golf Club, located in the heart of Dunedin, Florida, is a historic gem that has been city-owned since 1938 and originally designed in 1927 by legendary architect Donald Ross, who called it his masterpiece. Once the headquarters of the PGA of America (1945–1962) and host to 17 PGA Senior Championships, the course had aged and required restoration. In 2024, the City of Dunedin partnered with renowned architect Kris Spence and TDI Golf Construction to revitalize the course while preserving its original Ross design. The project included a new irrigation system, regrassing with TifTuf and TifEagle Bermuda, bunker reconstruction, improved drainage, and the restoration of Ross’s original greens. As a Tree City USA, Dunedin also prioritized environmental sustainability, installing 49,000 feet of tree protection fencing and planting 379 new trees. Following months of anticipation, the club reopened in December 2024, revealing a beautifully restored course that has generated national excitement. With golf tourism driving over $100 billion in annual economic activity, the club’s revival strengthens Dunedin’s position as a premier golf destination while preserving a cherished piece of golf history.
